“Meal prep” is overdue for a rebrand.

CHOP SOCIAL: an open studio kitchen workshop

The number one thing our clients (and our friends/family and TBH, both of us) struggle with when it comes to consistently nourishing ourselves is meal planning and prepping.

We blame this on the association between “meal prep” and dieting or [insert other term for new plan to “eat healthy”]. If you (inevitably) give up on the latter, you lose steam on the former. And spending time planning meals and prepping food - while a valuable life skill - is at best boring, at worst daunting.

Chop Social is NOT your trainer’s version of meal prep - this is a casual, virtual gathering for the everyday person wanting to get in the habit of setting aside time to plan and prepare foods they’ll eat throughout the week… in fact, “meal prep” is overdue for a rebrand.

Welcome to Chop Social - our open studio-style workshop for meal planning + prep.

When you sign up, you’ll receive:

  • a weekly link + password to join Chop Social

  • dietitian-curated meal planning and prep tips

  • an invite to a one-time info sesh on meal planning with Amy + Gemma

Join dietitians Amy + Gemma on Mondays at 6:00 EST for a free, virtual, one-hour kitchen prep workshop and social gathering

There is no cost to join or attend this virtual gathering! Set up your phone or laptop and join us from your kitchen to work on any prep that would help you in the coming week.

This could look like:

  • cleaning and chopping vegetables for recipes you’ll make other days

  • prepping marinades or salad dressings

  • packing lunches or snacks for the week

  • prepping or portioning out bulk items to be used throughout the week or stored (e.g. shredding a large block of cheese, separating a Costco-sized bag of chips into individual bags)

  • prepping crockpot or freezer meals

  • making dinner for that night

  • trying a new recipe you’ve been thinking about

Really, you can use this time for just about anything food or kitchen-related. Not having a solid plan shouldn’t stop you from joining the call! If you aren’t ready or in the mood to cook/prep, here are some other ideas:

  • clean out the fridge/freezer

  • take inventory of freezer items you have and need to use

  • make a grocery list and/or plan for meals this or next week

  • challenge yourself to make a meal with random items you need to get rid of - you have TWO dietitians to help you come up with something!
